In contrast to anti-mitochondrial antibody, LKM does not stain rodent stomach.

Homogenous staining of rodent liver with LKM antibody. Nuclei are counterstained red with ethidium bromide.

Specific staining is seen in the cytoplasm of proximal renal tubules but not in distal.

Antigen: Cytochrome P450
Disease: LKM antibodies are strongly associated with type 2 autoimmune hepatitis.
